Matt McDavid, LCSW

🌻

Licensed Therapist

Founder of McDavid Creative Therapy

Being a therapist is more than a job for me—it's a calling. As a young adult, my own mental health struggles revealed the healing and transformative power of therapy.

My own mental health journey deepened my empathy and respect for those on their own healing paths. I draw inspiration from the meaningful opportunity to help others grow.

This passion drove me to complete my graduate education and training at Columbia University. With over a decade of experience as a mental health practitioner, I am grateful to be able to support others on their journey toward a better life.

The philosophy of Kintsugi is at the heart of my practice—seeing life's challenges as cracks that let in the light that illuminates our true self.

For our clients, McDavid Creative Therapy represents a shift towards a more fulfilling, empowered, and balanced life. For our clinicians, it offers a supportive, growth-oriented career in mental health care that respects their need for work-life harmony, professional development, and ethical practice.

Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repair, where shattered pottery is tenderly transformed into masterpieces, each fracture narrating a tale of resilience, redemption, and the intentional pursuit of beauty.

As the pieces are meticulously reassembled with precious metals, a gentle whisper echoes—an assurance that brokenness is not the end; rather, it's an opportunity to consciously and intentionally craft an even more beautiful life.

With compassion and understanding as our compass, we pick up the pieces in therapy. It becomes a sacred space where our fractured selves are tenderly nurtured, and our scars, far from symbols of defeat, evolve into golden emblems of strength and resilience.

Just like the Kintsugi bowl, our breaks are the beginning, not the end. They can lead to something better. Through compassion and understanding, we start the journey of putting ourselves back together.

Our scars, made golden through love and care, can be proudly displayed as signs of our growth and resilience.

In every crack, there's a story.

In every break, a chance for

beauty and growth.
